Umpire Sessions for All Grades

Sunday 21st April 10am and 12pm

 Tuesday 30th April 6.30pm

Netball Kapiti Centre wish to support you to expand your understanding of the rules of netball.

These sessions will be run by our senior umpire group and will go through all the rules of netball to enable you to feel confident when umpiring for your team/s on a Saturday

Remember that all grades below Primary A2 must provide their own umpire on a Saturday and the people umpiring must have attended an umpire session. NKC also encourages Primary A1 and A2 grades to have an umpire as at times the centre may not have enough umpires to allocate to all games.

These sessions help us to get some consistency with calls across all of our grades and ensures a better playing experience for the players and a better umpiring experience for the umpires. 

If you are player/umpire that has not attended a session with your school/club then you must attend one of these sessions.

** Please note these sessions will only go ahead if there is a reasonable number of people registered

NEW NETBALL RULES 2024

On 12 December (NZT), World Netball released several changes to its rules which come into effect on 1st January 2024.

These changes have been made following a comprehensive consultation process. Periodically the World Netball Rules Advisory Panel (RAP) reviews the rules of netball to maintain the spectacle of the game, continuing the sport’s evolution and positive outcomes for all involved.

World Netball will be developing educational resources including an updated rules app available for all to access at https://netball.sport/game/the-rules-of-netball

Netball New Zealand will work closely with those in both the high performance and community space within all Centres around New Zealand to ensure the changes are understood and applied from the start of 2024 season.

Once Netball Kapiti Centre has been trained up, we shall let you know workshop dates and opportunities to refresh your knowledge based around these new rules.  These will be sent to clubs and schools direct via email as well as promoted via our usual channels of our Netball Kapiti Centre website and Facebook.
